Information Technology Specialist –  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, plans, directs, and implements the development and operation of information systems and technology operations and solutions for all SCEOC programs.  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field or an Associate’s Degree with at least 2-4 years relevant experience required. Demonstrated experience in Windows networking/server environment.  Experience with database and reporting tools.  Must have own vehicle, possess a clean driver’s license and be insurable to operate agency vehicles.  Salary is commensurate with experience but will range from $20/hour to $23/hour.

Lead Early Childhood/Center Director  –  Ballston Spa  (school year) This position serves as a primary caregiver in a classroom of Early Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom routines and activities. Will be responsible for daily center-based program functioning while assisting the Region Manager in providing leadership and implementing assigned functions of the site.  Shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program and linking parents with their family and health advocates.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Position requires a BS in Early Childhood plus one year of supervision and one year in a classroom.   Must have a valid driver’s license.  Offering $16.42/hr + an additional .25 when Center Director approved. 40 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr.

Lead Early Childhood/UPK –  Saratoga Springs or Ballston Spa site (full year)  This position serves as a primary caregiver in a classroom of Early Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom staff, routines and activities. Shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program and linking parents with their family and health advocates. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Position requires a BS in Early Childhood as well as a NYS Teacher Certification N-6 in a preschool category.  One year of supervision and one year in a preschool classroom is also required.   Must have a valid driver’s license.  Offering $17.96/hr. 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Assistant Teacher – Ballston Spa (school year)  This position works with the Teacher in developing activities for preschool children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Works with typically developing children and children with disabilities. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position works with families to promote parent involvement in the program.  Minimum requirement is CDA (Preschool) credential or higher (Associates or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education) plus experience working with young children. Valid driver’s license required.  40 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr, $12.06/hr.

Home Visitors – positions in Malta, Saratoga and Corinth (full year) This position is responsible for supporting families who are not in a class setting to move toward school readiness. The Home Visitor works with families to assesses and identify barriers that impede school readiness and strengths that encourage school readiness.  The position is mobile and requires staff to complete home visits as described. Requirements are a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework (12 Early Childhood Education credits) as part of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and experience in Child Development and Early Childhood Education; the principles of child health, safety and nutrition; adult learning principles; and family dynamics. Experience working with young and preschool age children is a must. Must have knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.   Must have a reliable vehicle and valid license required.  Mileage reimbursement is offered along with 40 hrs/wk, $12.83/hr.

Health Advocate –  Saratoga (full year)  Ensuring that families have health insurance coverage and an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health and dental care. HS Diploma/GED and two years’ experience in a related field working in public health or nutrition required. Valid driver’s license required.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT trained and certified to pass medications as needed. $11.80/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Family Advocate – Mechanicville (full year) Supports the role of parents in family well-being and positive parent-child relationships by encouraging parent involvement in Head Start while providing advocacy and social service guidance based on family goals.  Responsible for recruiting eligible children and introducing families to all Head Start options and other SCEOC programs. Completes initial application and eligibility assessment for all children.  Identifies child and family needs for center-based families. Provides referrals, advocacy and follow-up to all EOC programs and community agencies. Provides case management for center-based families and facilitates case management meetings and conferences. Associates Degree in Human Services and at least 2 years’ experience in a human services field.    Position requires strong advocacy skills relating to health and social services in support of families.  Must have knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.  Working knowledge of governmental and social services programs and resources required.  Valid driver’s license is necessary.  $11.80/hr, 40hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Teacher Aide/Floater – Clifton Park (school year) – Will assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers with daily Head Start classroom needs.  Experience working with preschool children is helpful.  Must have High School Diploma/GED.  30 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr, $11.39/hr.

Project Assistant– Mechanicville  (part-time/25 hours/week) Clerical office support needed for Head Start home based program. Experience in an office clerical role is required along with working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, basic filing and data entry. May be asked to assist in classroom when necessary.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Basic First Aid and CPR.  High School Diploma/GED and valid driver’s license required.  $11.80/hr, 51 weeks/yr. Hours are 8:00am – 1:00pm.

Teacher Aides/Floaters for Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa sites – Candidate must be willing to work where needed to assist the Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers with daily Head Start classroom needs.  Must be flexible with schedule to fill in for vacancies and absences when and where needed. Experience working with preschool children is helpful.  Must have High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license.  30 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr, $11.39/hr.

Substitute Teachers and Substitute Teacher Aides – We have positions available that require varying degrees of experience from Lead Teachers to Assistant Teachers to Teacher Aides.  All positions serve in a preschool classrooms and assist in facilitating team planning, implementation, and supervision of classroom activities. Will work with developing children and children with disabilities. Requirements based on teaching level below:

Lead Teachers: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 1 year experience, NYS Teacher Certification in a preschool category is helpful but not required, Supervisory experience a plus

Assistant Teachers: Associates in Early Childhood or enrollment in a CDA program is acceptable

Teacher Aides: High School Diploma/GED and experience working with preschool children

Accounting Lead – Under the supervision of the Finance Director, completes complex fiscal functions, human resource functions and related clerical duties.  Demonstrated knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles with heavy familiarity in accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, maintaining general ledgers, payroll, payroll processing, recruiting, hiring and onboarding. Associates Degree in Accounting or related field required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.  At least two years accounting or bookkeeping experience or other pertinent business management experience.  Salary ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per our based on experience.

Technician/Carpenter – Lead crew on the job site to install energy savings measures in homes to reduce the energy burden on customers within Saratoga and Schenectady Counties. Will operate hand tools and equipment necessary for the installation of energy reduction measures such as installing high density blown cellulose in sidewalls and attics, replacing windows, and installing air-sealing measures for doors/windows, rim joists, knee walls. Perform basic residential electrical work on light fixtures, range hoods, bathrooms, fan and light installations. Must have proven leadership skills and experience supervising a crew.   Minimum of 3 years “on-the-job” building construction and/or carpentry experience.  Will be expected to obtain certification as a Lead Renovator. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license.  Position offers $15.00 per hour with excellent benefits!

Energy Services Crew Member   Will install energy savings measures in homes to reduce the energy burden on customers within Saratoga and Schenectady Counties. Operates hand tools and equipment necessary for the installation of high density blown cellulose in sidewalls and attics, replacing windows, and installing air-sealing measures for doors/windows.  Fulfill the work scope as directed by the Crew Chief and/or Production Supervisor including, but not limited to, work on ladders, basements, attics, outside and confining spaces.  Responsible for knowledge of and incorporating newly provided Weatherization techniques, such as the Minneapolis blower door, digital manometer, combustion appliance zone (CAZ) testing, pressure diagnostics, etc.   Candidate must have a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years “on-the-job” building construction or carpentry experience.  Able to lift 50 pound tools and equipment and able to crawl under, in, and through tight and/or dirty spaces.  Pull or reach with arms and/or hands, crouch, bend or kneel, climb stairs or ladders.  Will work from heights no greater than 25 feet. Must be tolerant of exposure to all weather conditions for periods up to 8 hours.   A clean, valid New York State driver’s license is required. Position offers $13.50 per hour with excellent benefits!

HVAC Heat Technician  Serves as the primary heat technician on the job site. Coordinate with Auditors and Program Director to perform the prescribed job in a manner that is thorough, courteous, expeditious, and safe. Diagnosis malfunctions of heating system and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement. Repairs/replaces heating system and/or components for the purpose of providing renovation and preventive maintenance. Review job folders and determine the work to be accomplished and materials needed to complete the project. Provide direction or guidance to crew on job site as needed.  HVAC Certification or BPI Certification as a Heating Professional. HS Diploma/GED required. 3 years “on-the-job” experience as an HVAC Technician. Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems.  Knowledge of various HVAC systems including hydronic heating systems, steam heating systems, and forced air heating systems. A clean, valid New York State driver’s license.   Position offers $16.00 per hour with excellent benefits!

English as a Second Language Coordinator – part-time

The English as a Second Language Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all ESL activities, including classes and individual tutoring sessions for the Latino Community Advocacy Program, which works specifically with low-income Spanish-speaking immigrants in Saratoga County.  The program focuses on ESL programming at the Saratoga Race Course backstretch.  Primary duties of this position are the development and administration of the program, volunteer outreach, recruitment and supervision.  Minor duties include teaching.  This is a growing program, thus the coordinator will be expected to continue the development of the curriculum, evaluation and teaching resources.  Classes are organized into small groups according to skill level and instruction is provided by volunteer ESL tutors.

Part-time position working at least 15 hours per week and offering $16.50 per hour.  This is temporary position available now through October 31, 2019.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree as well as teaching experience.  ESL Certification is a plus! The ability to read, write, and communicate with high proficiency in both Spanish and English, as well as demonstrate an understanding of or ability to relate to Latino/Latin American cultures and heritage is required.  Supervisory experience as well as working with and coordinating volunteer a must.  Candidate must be flexible to work a schedule with non-traditonal working hours, Tuesday and Thursday evenings are required.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to spend time giving back to their community.  All positions require someone who is friendly, inviting and enjoys working with the public.  Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

We have the following opportunities available:

Food Pantry  – Assists at our Ballston Spa location with the stocking of shelves, filling of food orders and assisting customers to their cars.

Mobile Food Pantry – Assists our advocate while the Mobile Food Pantry is out on the road. He/she would assist in loading the vehicle, filling orders and assisting customers in designated locations throughout the county.

Soup Kitchen – Assists at our Soup Kitchen located in Saratoga Springs.  Includes the preparation of food, serving our customers and breakdown.
