Custodian – Responsibilities involve general maintenance, cleanliness and orderliness to ensure facilities and equipment are in good shape at all times.  Will clean, dust and vacuum the building on a regular basis.  Duties include trash removal, cleaning windows, light building maintenance.  Will shovel sidewalks as needed and clear debris from grounds and parking lots.  Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and order as needed.  Will troubleshoot general problems and repair and replace general hardware, ceiling tiles, lightbulbs, etc.  Some painting and assisting with moving office furniture when necessary.  This position is part-time offering 20 hours per week. An ideal schedule would be Monday – Friday, 12:00pm – 4:00pm but we are flexible.  This position has the potential to increase hours for additional duties.  Must have one year of similar cleaning and maintenance experience. Basic knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk for short distances. Must have a clean driver’s license and be insurable to operate agency vehicles. High School Diploma/GED.

Region Manager – Center Based Program

This position has the overall responsibility for providing leadership and assuring the implementation of all functions within the assigned region. Direct supervision of employees within the regional also requires coordination with Service Area Managers. This position oversees the smooth functioning of the program in the areas of child and family services, fiscal, human resources, transportation/vehicles, facilities, food services, inventory, child safety and technology in order to provide reliable, healthy and safe services to children and families, and to support the goals of the program.  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work or related field. 3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity and proven experience with supervision, staffing and performance development. Considerable knowledge and experience with New York State Day Care Licensing regulations, NYS UPK regulations and best practices related to early childhood education. Head Start experience is a plus. Experience interacting with families, young children and low income individuals preferred. Valid driver’s license required.  $19.81/hr., 40 hrs/wk, 52 wks/yr.

Health and Nutrition Manager – Experienced professional needed to manage and coordinate the health, nutrition and child safety programs for Head Start within Saratoga County. Responsible for collaborating on the development and implementation of the program, tracking and record keeping, community relations and outreach. Monitors the Health, Safety and Nutrition requirement’s for the program. Writes, reviews and revises Health, Nutrition, and Child Safety Work Plans annually. Establishes policies and procedures for the health portion of the program with parents and staff to support the effective implementation of health services. Serves as a health and nutrition  resource specialist to Head Start staff. Provides supervision, training and technical assistance to staff on service area matters.

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in health, public health or other closely related field.  Three years’ experience in a managerial capacity and proven experience with supervision, staffing and performance development. Considerable knowledge of health, nutrition, human development, community health and basic nursing principles. Knowledge of community and public health programs and other resources and the availability of such programs in the community is required. Valid driver’s license required.  $19.81/hr., 40 hrs/wk, 52 wks/yr.

Regional Center Base Education Coordinator  Supports and supervises the Lead Teachers in the assigned region. Coordinates with regional management staff to integrate Early Childhood development and education goals with Family Partnerships, Health, Disability Services and parent education efforts to ensure integrated child and family service delivery. Observes center-based programming and to provide guidance and support, documenting the observations and providing feedback. Participates in record keeping, data collection and the analysis of the data in support of the Head Start Outcomes Process. Works closely with the Regional Home-base Coordinators to provide a strong developmentally appropriate program for all children.  Will assist in the classroom as needed.

A BS/BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 6 courses in Early Childhood Education. A Master’s degree is preferred. New York State Teaching Certification in Birth to Grade 2 or N-6 is required. Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an early childhood program. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Must be willing and able to obtain Basic First Aid training and CPR certification within the initial probationary period and maintain that certification. Full-time, full year offering  $18.29/hr.

Family Partnerships Coordinator – Under the direction of the Family and Community Partnerships Manager, this position oversees the facilitation of Service Areas as it relates to ERSEA, Family and Community Engagement, mental health as per Head Start Performance Standards, local policy and, if relevant, other governing authority within the regional area. This position requires regular travel to make contact with staff, families, and other agencies.  Some evening and weekend work may be required for events such as home visits, family meetings, social or community events, parent education sessions etc. Provides direct supervision, training and monitoring of Family Advocate’s and ensures their compliance with agency Service Area Plan and Performance Standards. Assists the Family Partnerships Manager in content area training and technical supervision to staff. Assists the Family Partnerships Manager in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the service delivery.  Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field preferred. An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field required. Must have a valid driver’s license.  Position offers a rate of $16.26 per hour.

Assistant Teachers  – Saratoga Springs and Clifton Park  (full year)  This position serves as additional support to the Teaching staff in an Infant/Toddler daycare classroom.  Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. Experience working with young children, especially Infants/Toddlers is necessary.  Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma/GED and CDA (Child Development Associate) or be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years; or have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic First Aid and CPR certification. Assistant Teacher – Greenfield Center (school year)  This position works with the Teacher in developing activities for preschool children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. Family Advocate – Mechanicville (full year) Supports the role of parents in family well-being by encouraging parent involvement in Head Start while providing advocacy, case management and social service guidance based on family goals.  Responsible for recruiting eligible children and introducing families to all Head Start options and other EOC programs.  Identifies child and family needs for center-based families and provides referrals, advocacy and follow-up.  Associates Degree in Human Services and at least 2 years’ experience in a human services field is required.  Position requires strong advocacy skills with the ability to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.  Must have knowledge of community resources along with governmental and social services resources.   Valid driver’s license is necessary.  $11.80/hr, 40hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Health Advocate –  Mechanicville and Clifton Park (full year)  Ensuring that families have health insurance coverage and an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health and dental care. High School Diploma/GED and two years’ experience in a related field working in public health or nutrition required. Valid driver’s license required.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic First Aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT (Medication Administration Training) trained and certified to administer medications as needed. $11.80/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Home Visitors – positions in Saratoga Springs, Ballston Spa and Corinth (full year) This position is responsible for supporting families who are not in a class setting to move toward school readiness. The Home Visitor works with families to assesses and identify barriers that impede school readiness and strengths that encourage school readiness.  The position is mobile and requires staff to complete home visits as described. Requirements are a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework (12 Early Childhood Education credits) as part of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and experience in Child Development and Early Childhood Education; the principles of child health, safety and nutrition; adult learning principles; and family dynamics. Experience working with young and preschool age children is a must. Must have knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.   Must have a reliable vehicle and valid license required.  Mileage reimbursement is offered along with $12.83/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Clerical Office Assistant– Mechanicville  (part-time/25 hours/week) Clerical office support needed for Head Start home based program. Experience in an office clerical role is required along with working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, basic filing and data entry. May be asked to assist in classroom when necessary.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Basic First Aid and CPR.  High School Diploma/GED and valid driver’s license required.  $11.80/hr, 51 weeks/yr. Hours are 8:00am – 1:00pm.

Clerical Office Assistant– Malta (full-time/40 hours/week) Clerical office support needed for Head Start home based program. Nutrition Aide – Malta (school year) Completes routine kitchen/dining room/food chores as assigned.  Prepares necessary food and serving items and provides service students.  Participates in kitchen clean up, inventory and other kitchen tasks as requested.  Shops for home based programming needs.  Experience in food service, nutrition and working with preschool children desired. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license. $11.80/hr, 35 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr.

Substitute Teachers and Substitute Teacher Aides – We have positions available that require varying degrees of experience from Lead Teachers to Assistant Teachers to Teacher Aides.  All positions serve in a preschool classrooms and assist in facilitating team planning, implementation, and supervision of classroom activities. Will work with developing children and children with disabilities. Requirements based on teaching level below:

Lead Teachers: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 1 year experience, NYS Teacher Certification in a preschool category is helpful but not required, Supervisory experience a plus

Assistant Teachers: Associates in Early Childhood or enrollment in a CDA program is acceptable

Energy Services Crew Member 

Installs energy savings measures and home renovation techniques to reduce the energy burden on customers within Saratoga and Schenectady Counties.  Performs light carpentry/construction work on residential homes. Operates hand tools and equipment necessary for the installation of high density blown cellulose in sidewalls and attics, replacing windows, and installing air-sealing measures for doors/windows.  Fulfill the work scope as directed by the Crew Chief and/or Production Supervisor including, but not limited to, work on ladders, basements, attics, outside and confining spaces.  Responsible for knowledge of and incorporating newly provided Weatherization techniques, such as the Minneapolis blower door, digital manometer, combustion appliance zone (CAZ) testing, pressure diagnostics, etc.   Candidate must have a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years “on-the-job” building construction or carpentry experience.  Able to lift 50 pound tools and equipment and able to crawl under, in, and through tight and/or dirty spaces.  Pull or reach with arms and/or hands, crouch, bend or kneel, climb stairs or ladders.  Will work from heights no greater than 25 feet. Must be tolerant of exposure to all weather conditions (heat, cold, snow and rain); for periods up to 8 hours. A clean, valid New York State driver’s license is required. Position offers $13.50 per hour with excellent benefits!

Office Assistant

This position carries out policy and procedures that ensure effective office management.  Coordinates daily office aspects of Energy Services Department. Process purchase orders and invoices for vendors and subcontractors using QuickBooks software.  Maintain customer folders and invoice when jobs are complete. Assist with bid procedures. Provide information and explanations to applicants concerning program services. Coordinate program referrals with the Department of Social Services and the Office for the Aging. Purchase inventory and maintain sufficient quantities for agency work crews. Process inventory and maintain the inventory data base. Must be fully familiar with federal and state Energy Service regulations and requirements. Ensures the posting of all invoices and a completed BWS to the client’s folder at the completion of a project. Works with Fiscal office to ensure job cost confirmation. Maintain and control purchase orders for program. Maintain daily crew time “per job” in QuickBooks.A clean, valid New York State driver’s license required.   Full-time position offers $15.00 per hour with excellent benefits!

Heating Technician  

Serves as the primary heat technician on the job site. Coordinate with Auditors and Program Director to perform the prescribed job in a manner that is thorough, courteous, expeditious, and safe. Diagnosis malfunctions of heating system and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement, renovation and preventive maintenance. Review job folders and determine the work to be accomplished and materials needed to complete the project. Willing to obtain HVAC Certification or BPI Certification as a Heating Professional. HS Diploma/GED required. Knowledge of various HVAC systems including hydronic heating systems and forced air heating systems is a plus. We are willing to train.  Carpentry or renovation experience and use of basic power tools is helpful.   A clean, valid New York State driver’s license required.   Position offers $20.00 per hour with excellent benefits!

 

Family Services Manager

The Family Services Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of evidenced-based family support services grounded in principles of Trauma Informed Care, Universal Basic Regard, and Coaching in order assist low-income families in establishing household stability and working toward self-sufficiency. This position will facilitate training and coaching for staff engaged in direct family support services including Head Start Family Advocates and Home Visitors as well as Food Programs, Immigrant Services and Family Services advocates. The Family Services Manager will also work with agency management to build a Trauma Informed approach to all agency operations.

The desired candidate should have experience and training in Trauma Informed Practice and client coaching models.  General knowledge of community services and experience or knowledge of family strengths/family centered practice also preferred. Will work with the management team to develop and implement the EmPath Mobility Mentors Program, taking into Department variations and funding requirements. Facilitate staff training on Trauma Informed Care, Economic Mobility and Coaching. Provide staff coaching to improve family coaching skills and trauma informed practices. Collect data and evaluate program efficacy, provide outcome-based recommendations.  Supervise direct reports. Participate in agency-wide, as well as department specific, initiatives to adopt and improve Trauma Informed Care and Whole Family practices.

Must have a Master’s Degree in social work preferred; supervised practicum or internship preferred. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, related fields with significant relevant professional experience will be considered. A minimum of three years supervisory/ administrative experience in a human service related position is required. Experience and Training in Trauma Informed Practice and client coaching models. General knowledge of community services and experience or knowledge of family strengths/family centered practice preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Must be able to maintain composure in challenging situations. Must be able to lift 40lbs and have a valid Driver’s License. Position offers an annual salary of $48,880.00

Immigrant Services Specialist

The Immigrant Services Specialist serves a crucial role in providing bilingual services and support to immigrants and their families in Saratoga, Washington and Warren Counties through EOC’s Immigrant Services Program. The Specialist will be clients’ primary point of contact with the agency and will assist them in accessing local resources, interpreting at appointments, and making appropriate referrals. The Advocate will provide assistance with issues including employment, housing, finances, health and education services.  Candidate must be fluent in both Spanish and English able to demonstrate effective crisis management, good judgment, and have excellent communication skills.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree preferred in social sciences including coursework related to cultural diversity, Latin American/Latinx studies, education, human services or social work, or 4 years of relevant work experience.  Bilingual/ Bi-Cultural – must have the ability to read, write, and communicate with high proficiency in both Spanish and English, as well as demonstrate an understanding of or ability to relate to Latinx/Latin American cultures and heritage. Working knowledge of government, healthcare, legal and social services programs. Must have knowledge of issues faced by low-income individuals and families. Experience in performing basic social needs assessments, crisis intervention, case management/mentoring, and advocacy.  A clean, valid New York State driver’s license required.  Position offers $16.00 per hour with excellent benefits!

Immigrant Community Navigator

Funded by the NYS Office for New Americans, the Immigrant Community Navigator will play a lead role in facilitating outreach and community initiatives related to the immigrant communities in Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. The Navigator will work with partner agencies to connect immigrants to vital services, lead community discussions, events and awareness campaigns on the needs and challenges faced by immigrants in our communities and the important role of immigrants in our communities, conduct an immigrant community needs assessment and host workforce development trainings. Will develop an immigrant community needs assessment to maximize the participation of the immigrant community in New York State’s civic and economic life. Establish and lead outreach to new Americans, including the coordination of a networking of individual and local organizations to provide information and resource assistance to immigrants. Establish and lead a local “Immigration Integration Round Table” program using the Welcoming America toolkits and engaging diverse community stakeholders including, but not limited to, representatives of the private sector, local governments, community based organizations, immigrants, local businesses, chambers of commerce, farm workers, farm owners, CAAs, refugee resettlement agencies, immigrant service providers and members of the community. Identify not-for-profit partners and other partners in the service area to develop and implement Employment/Workforce Development workshops, expos or other type of informational events relevant to the needs of the community. Coordinate and support the ONA Press Office with advertising and other media related efforts, develop strategies to disseminate information through paid media, coordinate media events with the ONA Press Team and participate in meetings with the ONA Press Office. Must have Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred in social sciences including coursework related to cultural diversity, Latin American/Latinx studies, education, human services or social work, or 4 years of relevant work experience. Community Services Assistant

The Community Services Assistant serves an important role in opening the door for low-income individuals and families to access the multiple support services available provided at Saratoga County EOC and at partner agencies. As the primary staff person responsible for the intake and eligibility screening of new and returning participants, the Community Services Assistant conducts a primary assessment of individual and family needs and connects them with staff and programs that can provide support. Candidate must be friendly, caring and professional and be able to demonstrate effective crisis management, good judgment, and have excellent communication skills. We are customer/participant focused and seek and applicant who desires to make an impact in the lives of our neighbors in need.

This position will work 30-hours/week and will be responsible for the complete primary intake and assessment for agency customers/participants. Introducing customers to EOC and the complete initial intake assessments of customers. Provide referrals to all EOC programs and community referrals. Responsible for input of all customer intake information into client tracking database program. Advocate for customers to secure access to and assistance from appropriate sources. Assists with Community Services Department Programs such as the Food Pantry, Rural Food Delivery Program, Soup Kitchen, Summer Lunch, VITA, and the annual Thanksgiving Baskets. Responsible for submitting timely completion of monthly reports to Community Services Director. Become an expert in the agency’s database system in order to be able to run reports for all programming.

Candidate must have an Associates Degree in Human Services or a High School Diploma/GED and 1 years’ experience in human services field. Must have knowledge of issues faced by low-income families and individuals and understanding of local healthcare and social service resources. Working knowledge of governmental and social services programs required. Experience in performing basic social assessments desired. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required. Driver – Food Pantry Assistant – Part-time

Looking for a candidate who wants to give back to their community and assist in bringing healthy and nutritious food options to our soup kitchen and food pantry customers. Coordinates the safe transport and storage of food donated from donor groups, organizations, farms, food retailers and restaurants. Transports donated food to distribution sites throughout Saratoga County. Position works is up to 15 hours/week and offers a rate of $14.00/hr and has the potential to increase hours for additional duties.  Schedule is Monday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00am – 11:30am and Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:00am – 9:30am.  Will pPick up and distribute donated food and non-food supplies, weigh and record items. Prepare statistical and other reports as needed. Stocks the Mobile Pantry for three designated sites within the county. Assists with preparation for rural food delivery. Perform other duties as delegated by the Director of Community Services. Must have a High School Diploma/GED, clean, valid NY State Driver’s License. Will drive a large van. Position can be strenuous at times, must be able to continuously lift, cart, transport and move boxes of food and various equipment up to 50 pounds. Warehouse or distribution center experience a plus. Tolerating the elements – climate may vary from un-air-conditioned kitchen to periodic trips to frozen and refrigerated areas. Transport and loading/unloading of food requires moving food year round in all weather conditions.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to spend time giving back to their community.  All positions require someone who is friendly, inviting and enjoys working with the public.  Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Food Pantry  – Assists at our Ballston Spa location with the stocking of shelves, filling of food orders and assisting customers to their cars.

Mobile Food Pantry – Assists our advocate while the Mobile Food Pantry is out on the road. He/she would assist in loading the vehicle, filling orders and assisting customers in designated locations throughout the county.

Soup Kitchen – Assists at our Soup Kitchen located in Saratoga Springs.  Includes the preparation of food, serving our customers and breakdown.
