Assistant Teacher  Infant/Toddler – Saratoga Springs (full year)  This position serves as additional support to the Teaching staff in an Infant/Toddler daycare classroom.  Assist with supporting a primary caregiver model in which each infant/toddler is assigned to a primary caregiver to foster bonding and a sense of security.  Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. Experience working with young children is necessary.  Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma/GED and CDA (Child Development Associate) or be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years; or have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic First Aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT (Medication Administration Training) trained and certified to administer medications as needed. Valid driver’s license required.  $12.06/hr., 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Home Visitors – positions in Saratoga Springs, Ballston Spa and Corinth (full year) This position is responsible for supporting families who are not in a class setting to move toward school readiness. The Home Visitor works with families to assesses and identify barriers that impede school readiness and strengths that encourage school readiness.  The position is mobile and requires staff to complete home visits as described. Requirements are a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework (12 Early Childhood Education credits) as part of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and experience in Child Development and Early Childhood Education; the principles of child health, safety and nutrition; adult learning principles; and family dynamics. Experience working with young and preschool age children is a must. Must have knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.   Must have a reliable vehicle and valid license required.  Mileage reimbursement is offered along with $12.83/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Family Advocate – Mechanicville (full year) Supports the role of parents in family well-being by encouraging parent involvement in Head Start while providing advocacy, case management and social service guidance based on family goals.  Responsible for recruiting eligible children and introducing families to all Head Start options and other EOC programs.  Identifies child and family needs for center-based families and provides referrals, advocacy and follow-up.  Associates Degree in Human Services and at least 2 years’ experience in a human services field is required.  Position requires strong advocacy skills with the ability to link families to the appropriate agencies and services.  Must have knowledge of community resources along with governmental and social services resources.   Valid driver’s license is necessary.  $11.80/hr, 40hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Health Advocate –  Mechanicville and Saratoga Springs 2 positions (full year)  Ensuring that families have health insurance coverage and an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health and dental care. High School Diploma/GED and two years’ experience in a related field working in public health or nutrition required. Valid driver’s license required.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic First Aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT (Medication Administration Training) trained and certified to administer medications as needed. $11.80/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Cooks / Nutrition Specialist –  Ballston Spa (full year) Responsible for ordering, cooking, serving and documentation of meals for a preschool classroom following CACFP guidelines.  Includes high volume food preparation, following menus, inventory control, and adherence to health and food safety codes.  Must maintain strict cleanliness of the kitchen as well as food service and storage areas. Willing and able to obtain and maintain Serv/Safe Certification, basic First Aid and CPR.  Knowledge of nutrition, basic food preparation and food sanitation necessary. High School Diploma/GED and experience in a kitchen and cafeteria required. Valid driver’s license is necessary.  $11.80/hr, 35 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Teacher Aides/Floaters  – Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park and Ballston Spa (full year) – Assists the Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers with daily Head Start classroom needs.  Position does require working in various sites to fill in for vacancies and absences when and where needed. Experience working with preschool children is helpful.  Must have High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license.  $11.80/hr., 35 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Teacher Aide – Clifton Park (school year) – Assists the Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers with daily Head Start classroom needs.  Experience working with preschool children is helpful.  Must have High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license.  35 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr, $11.80/hr.

Substitute Teachers and Substitute Teacher Aides – We have positions available that require varying degrees of experience from Lead Teachers to Assistant Teachers to Teacher Aides.  All positions serve in a preschool classrooms and assist in facilitating team planning, implementation, and supervision of classroom activities. Will work with developing children and children with disabilities. Requirements based on teaching level below:

Lead Teachers: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 1 year experience, NYS Teacher Certification in a preschool category is helpful but not required, Supervisory experience a plus

Assistant Teachers: Associates in Early Childhood or enrollment in a CDA program is acceptable

Teacher Aides: High School Diploma/GED and experience working with preschool children

Fiscal Manager – Responsible for complex fiscal functions.  Working knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles with heavy familiarity in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, maintaining general ledgers, payroll, payroll processing.  Fiscal management of all grants, requiring familiarity with each budget, budget categories, reporting requirements and timetables. Supervises and monitors accounting procedures to insure internal controls and segregation of duties. Must have an bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or fiscal management as well as a minimum of two years or more of experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel user level and familiarity with Fiscal software is necessary. Great communication skills, written and verbal are required as is excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to positively and proactively manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and thrive in fast-pace, dynamic environment. Must possess a clean driver’s license and be insurable to operate agency vehicles.

Heating Technician  

Serves as the primary heat technician on the job site. Coordinate with Auditors and Program Director to perform the prescribed job in a manner that is thorough, courteous, expeditious, and safe. Diagnosis malfunctions of heating system and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement, renovation and preventive maintenance. Review job folders and determine the work to be accomplished and materials needed to complete the project. Willing to obtain HVAC Certification or BPI Certification as a Heating Professional. HS Diploma/GED required. Knowledge of various HVAC systems including hydronic heating systems and forced air heating systems is a plus. We are willing to train.  Carpentry or renovation experience and use of basic power tools is helpful.   A clean, valid New York State driver’s license required.   Position offers $16.00 per hour with excellent benefits!


Part-time Soup Kitchen Assistant

Saratoga County EOC is seeking a part-time Soup Kitchen Assistant to help oversee the preparation and serving of meals at our community lunch program in Saratoga Springs. We are looking for a passionate individual who wants to give back to their community. The Soup Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for overseeing meal preparation, serving and coordination of volunteers.

This position is 3 to 4 days per week, 9:00am-1:30pm with flexibility for weekend coverage if necessary.  Position offers $14.50 per hour.

Experience with cooking, food service, menu planning, food safety and proper storage is required.

Saratoga County EOC’s Soup Kitchen is proud to serve full, healthy and diverse meals to low-income community members, including senior citizens, families, homeless individuals and seasonal workers. Basic kitchen knowledge and meal prep skills are desired, as well as comfortability working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for volunteers who would like to spend time giving back to their community.  All positions require someone who is friendly, inviting and enjoys working with the public.  Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

We have the following opportunities available:

Food Pantry  – Assists at our Ballston Spa location with the stocking of shelves, filling of food orders and assisting customers to their cars.

Mobile Food Pantry – Assists our advocate while the Mobile Food Pantry is out on the road. He/she would assist in loading the vehicle, filling orders and assisting customers in designated locations throughout the county.

Soup Kitchen – Assists at our Soup Kitchen located in Saratoga Springs.  Includes the preparation of food, serving our customers and breakdown.
