Lead Early Childhood Teacher/UPK  – Ballston Spa (full year) This position serves as a primary caregiver in a classroom of Early Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom routines and activities. This position also shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program and linking parents with their family and health advocates. Serves as a member of the region’s management team. Evening and weekend work may be required. Position requires a BS in Early Childhood plus one year of supervision and one year in a classroom as well as NYS Teacher Certification N-6 with preschool experience. MS and Head Start experience a plus! Must have valid driver’s license. 40 hours per week, 17.50/hr.

Assistant Teachers – Clifton Park (school year and full year)  This position works with the Teacher in developing activities for preschool children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Works with typically developing children and children with disabilities. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position works with families to promote parent involvement in the program.  Minimum requirement is CDA (Preschool) credential or higher (Associates or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education) plus experience working with young children. Valid driver’s license required.  40 hrs/wk, $11.75/hr.

Health Advocate –  Clifton Park and Ballston Spa (full year)  Ensuring that families have health insurance coverage and an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health and dental care. HS Diploma/GED and two years’ experience in a related field working in public health or nutrition required. Valid driver’s license required.  Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT trained and certified to pass medications as needed. $11.50/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Home Visitors – positions in Malta, Saratoga and Corinth (full year) Supports the role of parents in positive parent-child relationships by encouraging their involvement in the Head Start Program while providing social service guidance and advocacy based on family goals determined by the family. Provides comprehensive home-based school readiness services to young children and families.  Requirements are a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework (12 Early Childhood Education credits) as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.  At least 2 years’ experience in a human services or early childhood education field. Experience in performing basic social assessments desired. Experience working with young children is a must. Home visiting experience desired.  Must have a reliable vehicle and valid license required.  Mileage reimbursement is offered along with 40 hrs/wk, $12.50/hr.

Cook / Nutrition Specialist –  Saratoga Springs (full year) Responsible for ordering, cooking, serving and documentation of meals for a preschool classroom following CACFP guidelines.  Includes high volume food preparation, following menus, inventory control, and adherence to health and food safety codes.  Must maintain strict cleanliness of the kitchen as well as food service and storage areas. Willing and able to obtain and maintain Serv/Safe Certification, Basic First Aid and CPR.  Knowledge of nutrition, basic food preparation and food sanitation necessary. HS Diploma/GED and experience in a kitchen and cafeteria required. Valid driver’s license is necessary.  $11.50/hr, 35 hrs/wk .

Nutrition Aide – Ballston Spa (full year) Completes routine kitchen/dining room/food chores as assigned.  Prepares necessary food and serving items and provides service students.  Participates in kitchen clean up, inventory and other kitchen tasks as requested.  Shops for home based programming needs.  Experience in food service, nutrition and working with preschool children desired. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license. $11.10/hr, 35 hrs/wk, full year.

Project Assistant– Malta  (part-time/25 hours/week) Office support needed for Head Start home based program. Experience in an office clerical role is required along with working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, basic filing and data entry. Willing and able to obtain and maintain  Basic First Aid and CPR.  High School Diploma/GED and valid driver’s license required.  $11.50/hr, 51 weeks/yr. Hours are 9:00am – 2:00pm.

Teacher Aide/Floater for Saratoga  – Candidate must be willing to work where needed in Saratoga County to assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers with daily Head Start classroom needs throughout the County.  Must be flexible with schedule to fill in for vacancies and absences when and where needed. Must have High School Diploma/GED and experience in a Preschool classroom is helpful.  30 hrs/wk, full year, $11.10/hr.

Fiscal Director

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, directs the fiscal activities of all SCEOC programs.  Primary focus on fiscal management of grants, monitoring program operating budgets, maintaining accurate accounting of all agency funds and preparing expenditure reports.  Fiscal management of all grants supporting SCEOC requiring familiarity with each budget, budget categories, reporting requirements and timetables. Supervises and monitors agency accounting procedures to insure internal controls and segregation of duties. Monitors program operating budgets so as to insure fiscal viability of the agency, maintains accurate accounting of all funds.  Monitors the accurate and timely processing of payroll checks, payroll procedures, and payroll variations.  Supervises, monitors, and evaluates Fiscal/HR Assistants. Must have a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business, fiscal management, or a related field required. Supervisory experience required, with 5 years’ experience in a position of significant fiscal responsibility. Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to write reports, procedures, business correspondence.

 

Energy Services Auditor Performs Energy Audits for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and assigns crews to complete scheduled work projects for both WAP and Empower/NYSERDA Programs.   Assists in the daily operations of the Energy Services Department. Coordinate on-site work of weatherization Crew Chiefs & Crews while providing technical assistance.  Ensure work standards meet the minimums set forth in the Standard Work System (SWS).Schedule customers for energy audits and perform audits in accordance with guidelines set by the Division of Housing and Community Renewal’s (DHCR), Bureau of Energy Affordability and the EOC’s Weatherization Assistance Program. Obtain and maintain the following certifications:  BPI Analyst, Heating and Mobile Home. Observe, analyze and evaluate homes using BPI standards based on appropriate building science techniques.  Educate clients on ways to save energy within their homes.

Must have an Associate’s Degree in related field, HSD/GED required. Supervisory experience in a building construction or engineering environment is necessary.  BPI certification as an Auditor in the fields of Envelope and Building Analyst a plus but we are willing to train. Working knowledge of modeling software such as TREAT, EmpCalc or similar. Utilize math skills and carpentry knowledge to evaluate and solve problems.  Knowledge of various HVAC systems including hydronic heating systems, steam heating systems, and forced air heating systems. Electrical knowledge helpful but not required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse social and economic backgrounds. Ability to work well under pressure and exercise good judgement. Maintain a positive attitude with staff and clientele. A clean, valid New York State driver’s license.

 

 

 

Summer Lunch Assistant – Malta 

Saratoga County EOC is currently accepting applications for a seasonal position in our Summer Lunch program. Position involves coordinating the lunch planning, food preparation, packaging, delivering and supervision of the program for children at Malta Gardens.

Schedule is Monday-Friday starting Monday, July 2nd through Friday, August 31st and is approximately 10 – 15 hours per week.  Candidate must have their own transportation and be able to lift kitchen supplies/equipment up to 40 lbs. May be exposed to the elements at times.  This is a temporary position offering $12.00/hr.  Candidate must be able to work through until August 31st.
