Regional Center Base Education Coordinator  Support and supervise the Lead Teachers in the assigned region. Coordinates with regional management staff to integrate Early Childhood development and education goals with Family Partnerships, Health, Disability Services and parent education efforts to ensure integrated child and family service delivery. Observes center-based programming and to provide guidance and support, documenting the observations and providing feedback. Participates in record keeping, data collection and the analysis of the data in support of the Head Start Outcomes Process. Works closely with the Regional Home-base Coordinators to provide a strong developmentally appropriate program for all children.  Will assist in the classroom as needed.

A BS/BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 6 courses in Early Childhood Education. A Master’s degree is preferred. New York State Teaching Certification in Birth to Grade 2 or N-6 is required. Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an early childhood program. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Must be willing and able to obtain Basic First Aid training and CPR certification within the initial probationary period and maintain that certification. Full-time, full year offering  $18.00/hr

Lead Early Childhood Teacher/UPK  – Ballston Spa (full year) This position serves as a primary caregiver in a classroom of Early Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom routines and activities. This position also shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program and linking parents with their family and health advocates. Serves as a member of the region’s management team. Evening and weekend work may be required. Position requires a BS in Early Childhood plus one year of supervision and one year in a classroom as well as NYS Teacher Certification N-6 with preschool experience. MS and Head Start experience a plus! Must have valid/clean driver’s license. 40 hours per week, 17.50/hr.

Lead Early Childhood/Center Director  –  Clifton Park (school year) This position serves as a primary caregiver in a classroom of Early Head Start children by planning, implementing, and supervising all classroom routines and activities. Shares responsibility for parent involvement in the program and linking parents with their family and health advocates. Will be responsible for daily center-based program functioning while assisting the Region Manager in providing leadership and implementing assigned functions of the site in the areas of child and family services, fiscal, human resources, transportation/vehicles, facilities, food services, inventory, child safety and technology.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Position requires a BA in Early Childhood with 1 year of supervision experience and 1 year teaching in an early childhood program.  Must have a valid/clean driver’s license.  Offering $16.00/hr + an additional .25 when Center Director approved.

Assistant Teachers – Clifton Park/school year and Clifton Park/full year This position works with the Teacher in developing activities for preschool children to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment. Works with typically developing children and children with disabilities. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position works with families to promote parent involvement in the program.  Minimum requirement is CDA (Preschool) credential or higher (Associates or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education) plus experience working with young children. 40 hrs/wk, $11.75/hr.

Health Advocate – Ballston Spa (full year)  Ensuring that families have health insurance coverage and an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health and dental care. HS Diploma/GED and two years’ experience in a related field working in public health or nutrition required. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification. Required to be MAT trained and certified to pass medications as needed. $11.50/hr, 40 hrs/wk, 51 wks/yr.

Home Visitors – positions in Malta, Saratoga and Corinth (full year) Supports the role of parents in positive parent-child relationships by encouraging their involvement in the Head Start Program while providing social service guidance and advocacy based on family goals determined by the family. Provides comprehensive home-based school readiness services to young children and families.  Requirements are a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework (12 Early Childhood Education credits) as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.  At least 2 years’ experience in a human services or early childhood education field. Experience in performing basic social assessments desired. Experience working with young children is a must. Home visiting experience desired.  Must have a reliable vehicle and valid license required.  Mileage reimbursement is offered along with 40 hrs/wk, $12.50/hr.

Project Assistant– Malta  (part-time/25 hours/week) Office support needed for Head Start home based program. Experience in an office clerical role is required along with working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, basic filing and data entry. Willing and able to obtain and maintain  Basic First Aid and CPR.  High School Diploma/GED required.  $11.50/hr, 51 weks/yr. Hours are 9:00am – 2:00pm.

Fiscal Officer – Under the supervision of the Executive Director, directs the fiscal activities of all SCEOC programs.  Primary focus on fiscal management of grants, monitoring program operating budgets, maintaining accurate accounting of all agency funds and preparing expenditure reports. Responsible for financial data collection and reporting, budget monitoring and general ledger analyses. Will supervise Fiscal/HR staff and provide direction and oversight when needed. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business fiscal management or a related field. Supervisory experience is required along with 5 years’ experience in a position of significant fiscal responsibility.  Must have advanced level Excel and familiarity with payroll software.

 

 

Energy Services Auditor Performs Energy Audits for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and assigns crews to complete scheduled work projects for both WAP and Empower/NYSERDA Programs.   Assists in the daily operations of the Energy Services Department. Coordinate on-site work of weatherization Crew Chiefs & Crews while providing technical assistance.  Ensure work standards meet the minimums set forth in the Standard Work System (SWS).Schedule customers for energy audits and perform audits in accordance with guidelines set by the Division of Housing and Community Renewal’s (DHCR), Bureau of Energy Affordability and the EOC’s Weatherization Assistance Program. Obtain and maintain the following certifications:  BPI Analyst, Heating and Mobile Home. Observe, analyze and evaluate homes using BPI standards based on appropriate building science techniques.  Educate clients on ways to save energy within their homes.

Must have an Associate’s Degree in related field, HSD/GED required. Supervisory experience in a building construction or engineering environment is necessary.  BPI certification as an Auditor in the fields of Envelope and Building Analyst a plus but we are willing to train. Working knowledge of modeling software such as TREAT, EmpCalc or similar. Utilize math skills and carpentry knowledge to evaluate and solve problems.  Knowledge of various HVAC systems including hydronic heating systems, steam heating systems, and forced air heating systems. Electrical knowledge helpful but not required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse social and economic backgrounds. Ability to work well under pressure and exercise good judgement. Maintain a positive attitude with staff and clientele. A clean, valid New York State driver’s license.

English as a Second Language Coordinator

The English as a Second Language Coordinator will be responsible for all ESL activities, including classes and individual tutoring sessions for the Latino Community Advocacy Program, which works specifically with low-income Spanish-speaking immigrants in the Greater Saratoga County Region.  The coordinator will be expected to further the development of the present curriculum, evaluation and teaching resources.  Classes are organized into small groups according to skill level and instruction is provided by both the volunteer tutors and the ESL Coordinator.  Primary duties of this position are the development and administration of the program, volunteer recruitment and supervision.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 or more years of teaching experience.  ESL Certification is a plus! The ability to read, write, and communicate with high proficiency in both Spanish and English, as well as demonstrate an understanding of or ability to relate to Latino/Latin American cultures and heritage is required.  Candidate must have a flexible schedule for non-traditonal working hours.
